Do I need to install an extension or create an account?
No. Startt runs in your browser. Open startt.xyz, press Startt, choose the window or tab to record, and do the task. No sign-up. Want exact button names on every click? Add the optional Chrome extension.
How does Startt know where each step starts?
Startt waits for the screen to change and then settle, whether that's a click, a page load or a menu opening. Each time, it captures a clean screenshot with the changed area highlighted. You can also press Mark step at any moment.
Do I have to talk while recording?
No, narration is optional. If you talk, Startt uses what you say to explain why each step matters. If you stay quiet, it writes the guide from the screenshots alone.
What happens to private information on my screen?
Startt finds emails, phone numbers, names in data, card numbers, keys and passwords in your screenshots and pixelates them before anything is shared. Pixelation can't be reversed the way a light blur can. You can add or remove blurred areas with a drag.
Where are my recordings stored?
Your recordings and guides are saved in your own browser. To write the text, only the key screenshots and your transcript are sent to the AI, never the video. Nothing is published until you create a share link. Live narration uses your browser's built-in speech recognition.
Can I edit and translate the guide?
Yes. Click any text to edit it. Drag steps to reorder them, or merge and delete them. You can also tell Startt what to change in plain words, like “make it shorter”, “write it for new hires” or “translate to Spanish”.
Can I use Startt for product demos and customer onboarding?
Yes. Record the flow once and share the link. Prospects can click through a demo at their own pace, and new sign-ups get a step-by-step guide to setting up their account and connecting integrations. Your team stops repeating the same onboarding call.
